The Army's Greatest Invention
The VIRGIL Chest Trauma Training System recently recieved one of ten of the Army's Greatest Invention Awards for 2003.
The annual program identifies and recognizes the US Army laboratory community's best new technologies that have military
application and utility. Users from active US Army Training and Doctrine COmmand evaluated the nominations based on
three categories: Impact on Army capabilites, potential benefit to the Army, and Inventiveness. The US Army's Research,
Development and Engineering Commmand consolidated the results into a final "Top Ten" recommended list.
The US Department of the Army G-3 served as final selection authority.
